Granulomatous inflammations are chronic processes in which activated macrophages with epitheloid appearance and lymphocytes,
rare plasma cells, predominate in the inflammatory exudate. Epitheloid macrophages may often fuse to form multinucleated cells of
varying sizes, i. e. histiocytic aggregates, histologically characterized by the formation of granulomas.
