Dermatitis perioralis

MUDr. Hana Duchková DrSc
Kožní sanatorium s. ,r. ,o., Ústí nad Labem

The pathogenesis of perioral dermatitis is unknown. The disease occurs often in young women. Papules and pusutules on an erythematous and something scaling base are confided to the chin and nasolabial folds. Some of authors proposed that the perioral dermatitis is a cutaneous intolerance reaction linked to constitutionally dry skin. It is precipitated by the regular use of moisurizing creams. Local antibiotics are frequently prescribed but are not very effective.
