DERMATOVENEROLOGICKÁ AMBULANCE HLUČÍN, s. r. o

The paper presents practical procedures for managing larger and long-lasting scabies epidemics in closed communities complicated

by other infectious diseases. The principles that need to be adhered to in order to stop the spread are generally well-known, however,

it is always necessary to assess the particular situation on a case-by-case basis in the focus of infection and to determine the tactics and

strategy of treatment. Team work is essential from the very beginning with the involvement of the health authorities relating to hygiene

issues, appropriate health insurance companies, and the health authorities of the Regional Council being an essential economic condition.

Also included are errors that resulted in several-years-long „ping-pong“ infections in closed populations.

Keywords: scabies, onychomycosis, impetigo, phthiriasis, hepatitis, epidemic.
