Differential diagnosis of lip conditions - part 1

Lip conditions vary in their clinical presentation which is often specific due to anatomical differences of the lips. They can be caused by

a variety of factors. Lip and mouth conditions can indicate a number of internal, systemic, autoimmune and skin diseases. The diagnosis

and treatment of lip and mouth conditions are multidisciplinary. The aim of both parts of the article is to present an overview of conditions

affecting the lips and their surrounding area.
