Mastocytosis

Mastocytosis are a rather rare group of disorders. They are characterised by abnormal mast cells proliferation mostly in the skin, but

also in the other organs – gastrointestinal tract, bone marrow, liver, spleen, central etc. The clinical symptoms are provoked by mast cell

mediators. There exist a several types of disease. Benign forms involve skin only, systemic forms with general symptoms and possibility

life of threatening periods, malignant forms are associated with hematology disorders. The most definitive criteria for the diagnosis

is tissue biopsy and typical clinical appearence. Darier sign is special mark for this disorder. We can see urticarial reaction lesion after

iritation due to histamin and another mediators. The whole investigation process aims to evaluate possible malignancy. Only symptomatic

therapy is usually used.
