Perifolliculitis abscedens et suffodiens in patient succesfully treated with izotretinoid

Perifolliculitis abscedens et suffodiens is a rare chronic dermatosis of unknown origin that affects hairy scalp and neck. It is a part of acne

tetras and is present mostly in men over 20 years of age. Histopathology is necessary to asses the diagnosis. Peroral izotretinoin is the first

choice of the treatment. Other therapeutic modalities include surgery, antibiotics, dapsone and biological therapy (anti- TNFα). A case

of man treated succesfully with izotretinoin is described.
