Endometriosis is an benign disease that commonly occurs in women of reproductive age, and is defined as the presence of normal endometrial tissue (glands and/or stroma) abnormally implanted in locations other than the uterine cavity. The main symptoms are chronic pelvic pain during menstruation, and infertility. Treatment includes chirurgical surgery and pharmacological, mainly hormone therapy. The article describes casuistic of 41-year-old woman with a rare umbilikal cutaneous localization of endometriosis, which occurs in less than 1% of all cases of endometriosis, and in random coincidence with malignant melanoma.
