Collagen and its use in dermatology

MUDr. Martina Matzenauer
Klinika Švýcarská, Olomouc

Aging is an inevitable process that none of us can avoid. With advancing age and mainly as a result of the times we live in, younger and younger groups of people are interested in improving their appearance and rejuvenation, especially in the facial area. Hand in hand with this interest goes the market, which offers a variety of support products and products that promise firmer, more flexible and, above all, more beautiful skin without wrinkles. Collagen in various forms, whether oral or in the form of creams, has enjoyed the greatest interest in recent years, thanks in no small part to the influence of advertising in the media and on social networks. The aim of this thesis is to look at different collagen products and examine their effectiveness in relation to the advertised effects and evaluate whether or not they can be beneficial for health and beauty.

Keywords: hydrolyzed collagen, collagen peptides, topical collagen, nutraceuticals, aging, wrinkles, hydration.
