Cow‘s milk is one of the most common allergens. Cow‘s milk allergy affects mainly atopic children in early life. It is diagnosis encompassing
various clinical symptoms. There are involed IgE-mediated and non IgE-mediated immunological mechanisms in pathogenesis. The
diagnosis of cow‘s milk allergy is based on history, clinical picture, skin prick tests and food-specific IgE. The results of these methods
sometimes do not correlate with clinical observations. Food challenge is necessary to prove cow‘s milk allergy. It is important to assess the
correct elimination diet. It requires to know allergenicity of the milk formulas for infants, cross reactivity among various mammalian
milks, to know the changes of allergenicity after the processing and home treatment of cow‘s milk.
