Seborrheic dermatitis is a frequent skin dermatosis occurring in the dermatologist's office. It affects parts of the body that are rich in sebaceous glands. The anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of sebaceous glands explain etiopathogenesis of disease along with other factors. Seborrheic dermatitis may indicate or be part of another major internal disease. Classification by the periodization of the postnatal period is important with regard to the current treatment options and approach to it, which are described clearly in the article.
