At the dermatology department, vaccine therapy has been used with a very good therapeutic effect for over 30 years. The already published results achieved in 1 017 patients have helped to define indications and contraindications for the therapy as well as the vaccine dosage.

Probiotics, prebiotics, and atopy

prof. MUDr. Přemysl Frič DrSc

Dermatol. praxi. 2007;1(2):87-89

The extreme prevalence of atopic diseases in developed countries is related to altered colonization of the intestines with commensal microbiota as well as to failure of the mucosal immune system to develop into a tolerogenic, non-inflammatory status. Probiotics and prebiotics may be able to improve this aberrant condition. They represent a complimentary therapeutic approach and particularly the unique opportunity of primary prevention in high-risk subjects.

MUDr. Ivana Krajsová MBA

Dermatol. praxi. 2007;1(2):68

Photodermatoses are classified (characterized) as a group of skin diseases initiated by solar UV radiation. To the most frequent units belong: polymorphous light eruptions, chronic actinic dermatitis and hydroa vacciniforme, which is...
