During pregnancy physiological and pathological changes occur due to hormonal and immunological changes. Most of these changes are benign in nature and do not endanger the mother or the fetus, however, they can have a significant impact on a woman's quality of life during pregnancy. Moreover due to the potential teratogenic or toxic effect of some drugs, therapeutic options may be limited in some cases. Pregnancy dermatoses form a separate group of diseases, which include gestational pemphigoid, intrahepatic cholestasis in pregnancy, atopic eruptions in pregnancy, and polymorphic eruptions in pregnancy. Recognizing them can sometimes be difficult, thus proper diagnosis is very important.
