During 1970–2006 the incidence of non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSC) per 100,000 men increased from 37.2 to 172.5, from 37.0 to 150.1 per 100,000 women, the mortality from 1.2 to 1.7 per 100,000 men, from 1.0 to 1.2 per 100,000 women. The prevalence reached 1,436.4 per 100,000 men and 1,435.9 per 100,000 women up to 31. 12. 2005. From total 264,514 NMSC there were diagnosed 123,735 multiple cases, 51.8 % in men of total registered and 41.6 % in women, represented 22.3 % primary NMSC in men, 18.2 % in women and 29.5 % subsequent NMSC in men and 23.4 % in women. Lip conditions vary in their clinical presentation which is often specific due to anatomical differences of the lips. They can be caused by a variety of factors. Lip and mouth conditions can indicate a number of internal, systemic, autoimmune and skin diseases. The diagnosis and treatment of lip and mouth conditions are multidisciplinary. The aim of both parts of the article is to present an overview of conditions affecting the lips and their surrounding area.

Mastocytosis are a rather rare group of disorders. They are characterised by abnormal mast cells proliferation mostly in the skin, but also in the other organs – gastrointestinal tract, bone marrow, liver, spleen, central etc. The clinical symptoms are provoked by mast cell mediators. There exist a several types of disease. Benign forms involve skin only, systemic forms with general symptoms and possibility life of threatening periods, malignant forms are associated with hematology disorders. The case reports a 56-year-old man with benign symmetric lipomatosis (Launois-Bensaude syndrome) showing massive symmetrical fatty deposits in the regions of the neck, shoulder, upper arm and thorax. This rare benign disease is most frequently associated with chronic alcoholism and hepatopathy what has been confirmed in our case. Patients mostly suffer more mentally than physically from the disfigurement of their body. In severe cases complications occur and have to be solved by a chirurgical intervention. The therapy is difficult with frequent relapses. Liposuction is a method of treatment combined with complementary therapy.

A case of a 35-year-old woman is described who presented with many years of unstable psoriasis, periods of generalized manifestations and significant joint pains in psoriatic arthropathy. For the past two years, this patient has been cared for by a rheumatologist who referred her for worsening joint problems to the centre for biological therapy of psoriasis to assess the options of treatment with the tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) blocker. The author describes his experience with the therapy of CVI and informs about the present state of the surgical knowledge about this topic. The classification is based on the last recommendations from Roma (2000, modified CEAP). The surgical therapy of CVI the author has divided into surgery of superficial venous system, surgical therapy of perforators and possibilities of surgical approach in the therapy of deep veins patology (reflux and obstruction). Different acne forms and its differential diagnoses are presented. Later the article includes possibilities of topical and systemic treatment, their indications and side effects. Good choise of external therapy agent is completed by different possibilities of their combinations. Systemic therapy includes antibiotic therapy possibilities and espetially the combinations of contraceptive and hormonal drugs in detail. Isotretinoin therapy includes not only the conditions of treatment, but also good choice of doses and duration of therapy.
