Pyoderma gangraenosum is a rare non-infectious inflammatory dermatosis, conditioned by a pathological immune response of the organism, manifested by the formation of painful, rapidly progressing ulcerations with a characteristic appearance. A rare variant is postoperative pyoderma gangraenosum arising in surgical incisions as a pathogenic reaction to skin trauma. The report describes a clinical case of a patient with pyoderma gangraenosum manifesting at the site of an established drain after surgery for left lung adenocarcinoma.

By term "vasculitis" inflammatory disease of blood vessels is designated that leads to vessel wall destruction followed by proliferation and occlusion of their lumina. Basic condition for this diagnosis is that vessel wall is a primary site of the pathological process. Clinical syndromes are a consequence of this process resulting into ischaemia of tissues supplied by the affected vessels and with constitutional symptoms associated to the inflammatory disease. Vasculitis can occur de novo as a primary involvement of vessel wall of unknown aetiology or it develops secondary to other diseases. The diagnosis of vasculitis is usually based on pathological...

There is a lack of literature regarding the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD) in patients with organ transplants. Despite the immunosuppressive regiments in the post-transplant population, de novo development of AD is well- documented phenomenon, particularly in liver transplant recipients. We report a case of dupilumab treatment in a liver transplant adolescent with severe AD under immunosuppressive therapy with tacrolimus.

The JAK/STAT signaling pathway is activated by a number of cytokines and growth factors. Drugs known as JAK inhibitors (JAKi) target cytokine signalization by either oral or topical administration. Topical application can minimize the risk of side effects observed with systemic application. The following article discusses different skin diseases in which local JAKi have positive therapeutic effect. Their use also reduces the risk of side effects of immunosuppressants and local corticosteroids.

Actinic keratosis is the most common skin precancerosis that occurs on skin damaged by chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation, hence the synonym "solar keratosis". The range of treatment options is relatively strict, but in addition to surgery and cryotherapy, it includes topical pharmacotherapy. The article summarizes the basic observations of the treatment options and focuses mainly on the benefits of 5-fluorouracil in 5% and the innovative 4% form of the cream.
